Cruising speed for rodeo kayak

It is well anticipatable that rodeo kayaks are unsuited for touring. But how much are they unsuited? They are shorter than creeking boats and seayaks, and thus more easily transportable.

If we agree to measure suitability in cruising speed ratio, then from experiment one can conclude that jackson rockstar kayak is 75% as suitable for touring as triton vjun is. Depicted experimental speeds were taken in two trips of the same year. In both trips boat almost all the way was paddled alone. Average speeds noted in legend were taken from first 60-km part of both tracks. Vonga river passes through lakes there.
